I wanted to create something… an image to express my feeling of love for what I am
painting. As a child, I was interested in art but didn’t think it was
something I could do. I often visited art museums experiencing "an emotional
reaction" to beautiful paintings and nurturing a secret desire to be an artist.
Finally, at 44, I taught myself to draw and quickly moved to pastels, then to acrylics and
finally oils. I’ve studied books on how to paint and the techniques of the masters.
